Usually 500,000 scouts participate over this weekend of communicating with Scouts of all ages around the world. At the end they all wanted to come back next year. Everyone had a great time. The food was included and excellent quality (& quantity); fireworks, night skiing / snowboarding and beautiful scenery all made for a wonderful holiday. We had some good snow on a Premier Resort. 9th August Operation Nighthawk. In the depths of winter on the Darling Downs as the evening cooled a big challenge lurked for our Scouts. A night hike were 900 Scouts were given varying courses and had to complete a range of base competitions. Discretely supervised, these youths met the tasks with enthusiasm. They returned satisfied and tired at various times in the wee hours of the next day.25th July was the Logan District Scout Section Camp. A great campfire was a focus of entertainment. There were lots of activities and friendly competition.29th May Cubs and Scouts visit the big fire station. That's Shane 'Eagle' in the helmet with the big hose - go Shane. Jonathon, Tania, Susan. 21st-24th March BIG BIG BIG Easter Camp Laserskirmish, Jumping Castle, Movies, crazy activities, Easter Egg hunt, Bash Cars, Canoeing, Abseiling, camping plus more. This Centenary Celebration was excellent. It was the Logan and Bay regional camp commemorating 100 years of scouting in Australia. March 13th Thanks Bunnings for Easter Family Night for our young scouts Scout Fundraiser Some of the scouts have organised their own BBQ to pay for the materials they used to make a steel Bike Rack, a Half-Pipe (big, awesome), and a skate funbox. This was the leadership projects undertaken by our senior scouts. Awesome awards - We have several scouts on the virge of earning their Scout Medallion and a Cub who has earned her Grey Wolf Badge. These are the top awards in these sections - WELL DONE.Feb 15th-16th Underwood Scout Group Leaders met with Leaders of other Scout Groups in the Logan District - It was great to learn more, catch up with other leaders and exchange ideas on how to improve our groups for our scouts. Some people forget our leaders are volunteers. Feb 7th the years starts with ..... games of course. January the Scouts made an awesome Half-Pipe and Funbox, and all you skateboarders know what I mean. Look at these things, there just excellent. One scout even made a bike rack out of steel. Feb 4thUnderwood Scout Interview on 101.1FM - Thanks to our local radio station for putting us on 101FM's Don MacLachlan's Morning Magazine. January The older scouts worked on and completed several major projects towards their leadership award over the holidays. In a few cases this was to tidy up some of the last bits of their Scout Medallion. It was awesome to see them building a steel bike rack, skate board fun box, and the enormous half-pipe together. They have organised a fundraiser to earn the money to pay for the materials, planned how to do it, and built these fun items.
